Many buyers, rather than sourcing from independent distributors in Asia, opt to purchase full BOMs from local authorized distributors, even at much higher costs. This trend is largely driven by the prevalence of counterfeit goods being sold as genuine, despite the vendors’ initial professional appearance.

Over time, quality issues inevitably surface, revealing that shipments often contain not only new and original components, but also refurbished, counterfeit, or partially fake parts. In their pursuit of higher profits, some suppliers deliver counterfeit goods without regard for the severe consequences to their customers. This leads to substantial disruptions for electronics manufacturers, such as halted production lines and costly delays, as counterfeit parts need to be manually extracted from PCBs and replaced with authentic components.
